Confined Space NFPA 1006 Awareness/ Operations (2-day Course)
Descend into the hidden chambers where air is thin, light is scarce, and safety depends on precision. This two-day intensive course equips you with the essential skills to perform confined-space rescues with confidence and control. From the echoing vaults of industrial worksites to the shadowed corridors of municipal infrastructure, you will learn to move swiftly, safely, and efficiently in the most restrictive environments. Upon successful completion, you’ll earn the Confined Space Rescue Operations Certificate, a mark of readiness recognized across industries.
Confined Space NFPA 1006 — Technician (2-day Course)
This advanced two-day program builds on the Confined Space Rescue Operations course, taking you from hands-on rescuer to strategic leader. You will learn to develop and execute an Incident Action Plan while stepping into the role of Rescue Sector Team Lead, directing crews through high-risk environments where each decision can mean the difference between safety and disaster.
Prerequisite
NFPA 1006 Confined Space Rescue Operations (Successful completion required).
Technical Ropes NFPA 1006 Awareness — Technician
Led by experienced professional rescuers, this two-day, hands-on course is tailored for personnel already familiar with the fundamentals of rope rescue. Over the span of the training, you’ll be challenged to apply your existing skills in a range of realistic and demanding rescue scenarios, testing your judgment, adaptability, and teamwork under pressure. At the same time, you’ll expand your expertise by learning advanced rigging methods and new rescue procedures. With ropes taut, anchors set, and complex systems in motion, each exercise builds both precision and confidence, preparing you to respond with competence and control when real emergencies strike.
Firefighter Survival
The Fire Ground Survival program, built on the latest IAFF training, delivers consistent Mayday preparation for firefighters, officers, and chiefs. Crews are trained for the unthinkable, lost, disoriented, injured, low on air, or trapped, while sharpening Rapid Intervention Team skills. Firefighter safety depends on our ability to rescue our own, and every drill builds the speed, precision, and confidence to turn a Mayday into a rescue.
Working at Heights Course
Firewise Training and Consulting delivers an approved Ontario Working At Heights program.Our Working from Heights Training Program meets the latest Ontario training requirements. This program provides workers with the knowledge required for the safe use and operation of equipment for working at heights. They will be able to recognize fall hazards and apply the proper safety measures. The key objective of the course is to teach operators how to increase the efficient use of elevating work platforms and reduce the risk of injury and damage to equipment, product and buildings.
Red Cross Standard First Aid Course
Firewise delivers a comprehensive blended course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Blended training involves web-based theory training followed by a one day in-class practical session.
NFPA 1006: Ice Water Rescue Awareness/Operations
This course has a 2 and 3 day option comprising both theoretical and practical skills. Course learning outcomes meet the requirements of NFPA 1006 Ice Water Rescue and provide the necessary skills and JPR profile to safely and effectively conduct a rescue at the operations level. The course is designed for emergency responders and those pursuing a career in emergency services, as well as services requiring specific water rescue training.
- Content Includes: Ice Water Awareness, conditions and hazards, Rescue and Survival equipment instructional, rescue skills and techniques, operational scenario training
- All Rescue PPE is provided
OFAI Prep Course
The OFAI Prep course is designed to support and create a solid foundation of the skills required to be a successful firefighter. Each component of the job performance requirements are broken down into a theory and practical based instructional process to support a foundation of reasoning and understanding of skill points. An instructor will walk you through each skill point and support practical evolutions to refine your skills and create a foundation of confidence.
- Content Includes: OFAI theory session, practical breakdown and understanding of each required skill and evolution, demonstration and practical training on critical points
- All Rescue PPE is provided
- Course enrolment opens the ability to utilize facility for further dates to practice skills
